[2018] My Rubik's Cube Collection | 150+ Cubes

hey guys it's lego Boise 3 this is my 2018 rubik's cube collection so this is my Rubik's cube collection wait a minute there we go that's better alright so here we go here are all of my Rubik's cubes that I've collected over the past 6 years or so there's about 150 of them so let's just go ahead and get started talking about them so these up here are my first of every standard type of cube all the way from 2×2 to 8×8 so first up here we have the LAN LAN 2×2 which I got a really long time ago I believe it was from my ninth birthday anyway it turns alright like you can do a speed solve on it and it won't be that bad but it's really nothing compared to most speed cubes this is my original 3×3 rubik's cube which is actually the first cube out of all of these I got this when I was 8 years old I just went to the store and bought it from Walmart and it turns pretty badly for 3×3 but not that bad for a Rubik's brand anyway it's kind of just cool to have my first ever cube on display here is my original Rubik's 4×4 which I also got in 2011 along with a lot of those cubes up there it turns really badly in fact these pieces pop out a lot just a little bit like you see when I turn it this piece kind of just pops out and you have to pop it back into place which gets really annoying because it just kind of locks up as more of these pieces pop out and it's just really loose some weird and yeah I don't like it at all here's my Rubik's 5×5 which I also got a similar time and it turns very similarly to it's very loose and weird and locks up a lot and not very good cube it's probably like this from just taking it apart and putting it back together so many times just like the 4×4 now right here is the V cube 6 now the Rubik's brand never mean you factored 6×6 cubes in fact when I got this cube it was the only 6×6 that even existed so yeah it turns really badly it has this clicking mechanism to get this inner layer in alignment and sometimes I can get messed up and it'll just start turning really badly and it can get weird internal lock ups like this we're literally nothing turns on any side except this one right here and you have to put it back into place anyway on all of these cubes up here I actually have cube Smith tiles on them which is a company that no longer exists but basically there's these stickers kind of things that are supposed to be a lot stronger than stickers and they work pretty well and look pretty nice and have kind of a good grip now here is a V cube 7 which was also the first 7 by 7 and it turns a lot better than the V cube six it doesn't have an annoying clicking mechanism but still nothing compared to most modern day 7 by sevens but it was the first it's all pillowed which means it has kind of a different shape than most cubes and that just has to do with how you have to design a cube in order for it to be as big as this one so we've now passed the cubes that I got originally back in 2011 and now this one the V Cube eight I got in 2014 when I started my youtube channel anyway it's just an 8 by 8 it doesn't turn that well it's a little bit better than like the 7 by 7 and 6 5 6 that came before it but still not that great compared to most 8 by 8 most of EQ puzzles in fact just don't turn very well compared to their counterparts but the interesting thing about this one is that Q Smith didn't actually sell tiles for a V Cube 8 so I actually had to cut them which is why if you look at some of the sides here the tiles just aren't cut very well or very consistently but it did take a very long time to cut all of them ok so now we're moving on to these cubes up here which are my main cubes so they're gonna turn a lot better than these ones over here there's some of the best cubes that you can get for speed solving and they are the ones that I use personally so this one is the chew when 2×2 turns pretty well I like how it turns I put magnets in it most of these cubes up here in fact I put magnets in to help improve the stability and just give it a nicer feel to the turning of it and they also have my shades on them these are my custom shades from the cubicle and they're pretty nice stickers so here we have the game 356 err SM so this one actually came with magnets in it it's a very good cube but I of course had still put my own custom shades on it this one is probably one of the best speed cubes that they have out there a lot of people use it it's just really really good performance I don't actually use this cube all the time for speed cubing there is another 3×3 that I do like very much to it it just has a nicer feeling than this one but this one overall has the best performance this is the minimo u absolute 4×4 and I have put magnets in it too in terms of 404s this one is quite outdated not a lot of people use it anymore but I still do quite like it it's definitely my best one that I have around for speed cubing this is the ution 5×5 same thing goes with this one it has really good performance probably the best that I have it has – in it has my custom shades and everything and it's pretty outdated nowadays but I still like it it was the first really really good speed cube by by 5 which is why I still have it this is the Chi e Lukasz 6×6 which is a pretty good option for six by sixes nowadays mine isn't very good it has a lot of extra lubricant or something on the inside that just makes it really slow especially on these inner layers it does actually have magnets in it but you can't really tell just because the inner layers are so slow here's the Chi wuji 7×7 which I got at the same time as that 6×6 this one actually turns a lot better in general odd layer cubes turn a lot better than even their cubes just because it's easier to make them but yeah this one's a lot faster to turn especially on these inner layers just really nice to turn and I really do enjoy solving on it I'm just not very good at 7×7 this is the Chi big sail which is basically just a basic 2 by 3 but it's much bigger than most two by threes this makes it very good for the feet event which this is my main in that event I actually have used this once in a competition for the 3×3 with feet event and yeah it went pretty well it's a very nice cube for that event so this right here is the X main square one which is the first cube that's not strictly an n-by-n puzzle which means it's something like a 2×2 3×3 4 by 4 or 5 by 5 this one is different this one is shape-shifting actually so it's not a cube all the time and it kind of changes shape I have this up here with my mains because it's a WC event the WCA or the world cube Association is a kind of body that governs competitions for cubing so yeah this is one of the events I don't particularly like the event but I still do compete in it occasionally and this is the cube that I use it is magnetic not only on this layer but also on these layers up here so there's a slight little click every time you turn it onto one of these possible turning positions just like this and anyway it is a pretty fun cube here is the x-man we nice cube now skew is actually my favourite event out of all of the I believe 18 WC events out of those I've competed in around 15 of them anyways cube is definitely my favorite it's kind of this interesting cube it doesn't turn on the corners it turns all the way through the middle like this which makes it pretty interesting to solve I can do it pretty fast that's why I like it so much I believe I'm number 2 in the state of Colorado for average and single and the cube itself is actually concave whereas those ones are pillowed this one's concave and that's just to help with grip here is the x-man galaxy megaminx also one of the best ones out there it also has these kind of concave ridges on every individual piece which makes it a lot easier to turn and grip the pieces it was one of the first very good speed solving megaminx is that came out a little over a year ago but I definitely do like the event it's basically a dodecahedron so there are 12 sides to the puzzle and yeah I like the event and I like this puzzle in particular here's the x-man bell pyraminx now pyramix is actually my second favorite event it is a tetrahedron so we have triangles on every side and there's only four sides it's a very fast event just like this cube and I'm actually pretty decent at it now a lot of people say that this is not the best pyraminx a lot of people say the movie magnetic one down there is the best I'll talk about that one later but personally I like the feeling of this one better and the funny thing is all four of these last puzzles have been x-men branded puzzles now finally we have the Rubik's clock which is the last WCA cube that I'm going to be talking about this is by far the weirdest WCA event basically we have these pins in the middle and we can push up certain ones of them to make certain clocks on the face move so like we push up these – all six of these will turn and yeah it's a very weird event but it's still in the WCA for some reason I guess just because it's a Rubik's puzzle okay so we're now going to be moving on to the next row of mostly non WCA puzzles but first let's talk about this thing this is the super big 3×3 I'm not quite sure of the brand name but basically it's just a giant 3×3 it's 18 centimeters across and each one of these cubies is the size of a normal rubik's cube so yeah it's really hard to turn especially in front of a camera like this here is the Chi E twisty Scoob I just got this one for Christmas basically it's a shape mod of the skew which is a puzzle I showed you up there so it's just a skew but it's turned into this weird shape just like a lot of these puzzles up here their shape mods basically you just take a puzzle and modify the shape so this one is mass-produced it turns pretty interestingly and shape shifts a lot here is the Chi IV cube which is also very similar to a Scoob it's basically justice cube but a lot of these corners are gone so there's actually corner pieces hidden underneath these pieces these ones just kind of cover them up so basically it only has half the corner pieces as an almost cube but it makes it a lot easier to solve and very interesting puzzle here's the shangzhou dino cube i don't believe i've shown this cube on my channel before basically this is a corner turning cube so it turns around the corners just like ass cube except it's different than ask you because s cube turns right down the middle whereas this one kind of turned separately on both sides the cut isn't quite as deep basically this one is a very very simple cube it's very easy to solve much easier than pretty much any of the cubes that I've showed so far this is the mo you ready cube which is very similar to the puzzle that I just showed the Dino cube it turns on each of the eight corners all separately like this except this one also has corners making it a little bit more complicated this is the Chi pentacle cube this one came out pretty recently too and this one turns in a very very unique way basically the faces I'll turn like this so you can just kind of turn these sides and if you line up all the points of the star in the correct direction you can turn it just like a 3×3 so it turns on all six sides just like a 3×3 would and it makes it pretty hard to turn because every time you want to turn it you have to line everything but it makes for a very interesting solving experience this is a meffert's gearshift so it may look like you just have to turn the gears in a certain way until it gets solved well you can actually do is pull the entire cube apart and now you can just turn in four of the gears at the same time so you can kind of do some turns on that side of the cube push it back together do some other turns push it back together and it scrambles like that this is the mefford's gear cube very similar concept with all the gears except this one is pretty much exactly like if you get three except that these edge pieces kind of spin around as you turn it so you see you turn one side like this and the inner layer actually turns forcibly like you can't just turn one side you have to turn the inner layer with it which makes it actually a little bit easier than a normal through battery which doesn't really make sense it looks like it should be harder but it's actually quite a bit easier this is a Rubik's avoid cube so it's pretty much exactly a 3×3 except it doesn't have centers so normally you could be able to stick your finger right through it but what I've done is I've actually put a golf ball on the inside of it so it's kind of just like a circular cavity on the inside and I just put a golf ball I took it apart put a golf ball in and now it has a golf ball on the inside of it so it doesn't turn very well it's a Rubik's brand puzzle but it still is very fun to solve this is the cubix tube it's just a shape mod of a 3×3 and of course it's just a big tube that runs all the way around the puzzle so you can actually stick a little ball inside of here and it will roll around the entire thing to the end and you can solve it by getting all the tubes to line up this is the oscars treasure chest which is by far one of my favorite cubes basically it looks just like a 3×3 and it functions just like that too but once you have solved it this white side actually pops off and you can put whatever you want inside of here so very interesting concept for a puzzle it has these really obnoxious tiles on the outside anyway it's a meffert's brain cube and it was designed by Oscar bin Deventer who designed a lot of these cubes in fact he designed I believe some of the gear cubes ready cube a lot of things like that here is the wit Eden mix F cube also designed by Oscar Van Deventer basically it functions exactly like a 3×3 except you can also do middle layer turns like this where the middle layer is only turned 45 degrees and it still will function perfectly and yeah just a really interesting looking cube you might think it's just a 3×3 but this in error middle layer can do that this is the Kirby copter there's a certain type of cube that actually turns on the edges this one is one of them and the original version has all like flat pieces it's not curvy at all and it's just called the helicopter cube this one is kind of a curvy shape modded version of it that has all these extra pieces that the helicopter cube doesn't have and basically it just turns on each of these twelve edges oh yeah and you can also do this so this is the Chi e clover cube so if you remember the IV cube back there and how it was similar to be skewed it just had some of the corners hidden this is exactly the same thing except very similar to a curvy copter so it's just a Kirby copter but without the corners the corners are hidden underneath so it just turns on all these edges and it makes it a little bit simpler to solve than the curvy copter and of course it can also do this which is called jumbling now here's a fun one that I also just got for Christmas basically what it is is it's a curvy copter so it turns on all the edges like this doesn't turn very well but it turns like this and it's that combined with a 3×3 so it actually has this as a corner this as an edge and I actually does have centers but I took those out and so it can turn on the faces just like this now this one's actually a very bad turning puzzle but I still do like it just because of the interesting solving challenges it actually has these really annoying centers that come with the puzzle but I took them out just because I pop out so much these are the fused cubes it's basically what it sounds is what happens when you glue two through batteries together at the corner pieces just like this these are too cheesy sales so they turn pretty well and yeah it's a very interesting puzzle to solve because some of the layers are bandaged like you can't turn the side on this puzzle because there's nothing to turn there but really the main reason that I made it is just so I could do this now here are the siamese cubes which can also do that it's made out of two guanlong so they also turn pretty well and it's pretty much just like the fuse cubes except it's glued in a different way so that on each cube you can actually turn two different layers on one axis one layer on another axis and no layers on the third axis which makes it pretty interesting to solve as well here is the armadillo cube which is a shape model of a 3×3 as you can see it's kind of a different shape and it's also a sticker mod so you can see this stickerless plastic is actually different than you would have a non normal 3×3 instead of covering one face it covers one edge like this so I believe there are twelve colors and it turns just like a 3×3 so now here is the five by five by three so we're now entering into some puzzles that I have made myself out of other puzzles so these two right here the two where I glued them together as well as some of these ones and most of these barrells right here these are all ones that I have actually made myself so this one is just a cuboid meaning that it doesn't have a cubic shape so basically what you do is you take a 5 by 5 you glue the top layers together and then you cut everything down to make it kind of flat you can't make it completely flat because that would be cutting into the mechanism too far but basically it creates this really cool cube that shape-shifts and everything and it doesn't turn that great but it still is really interesting to solve I don't really know how to solve it to be honest I just kind of look it up every time oh yeah really really interesting mod and now a very similar looking cube that I made in a very similar way is the 4 by 4 by 2 so this one similarly I made out of a 4 by 4 you just glue the layers together and cut everything down this point is a little bit simpler than the 3 by 5 by 5 but I still don't know entirely how to do it but it is still shape-shifting and it was a very very fun mod to make so this right here is the mo you yiling crazy Fisher cube and so this one is also a 3×3 shape mod so as you can see it can shape-shift just like this I did not make this one this one this actually mass-produced unlike most of these other puzzles that I'm going to get to pretty soon but basically it turns into some crazy things like this when you start to solve it making for a pretty fun challenge and the Fisher part of the name means that it's offset by 45 degrees so normally it would just be kind of like 45 degrees and it would just kind of everything would be off like this but this one's offset you can see everything's out of 45 and I'll talk about that in a second so this right here is a custom-made cutter cube but before I talk about what this is I want to talk about what a Fisher cube is so basically what a Fisher cube is is when you take a 2 by 3 and offset everything by 45 degrees so you kind of take the mechanism like this cut here here here and here and extend everything out to make it a perfect square again so that everything kind of turns on a diagonal that's what I was talking about with the last puzzle and an interesting thing that you can do if you make a Fisher cube is you can actually combine it with pieces of a normal cube and get a cutter cube so basically a cutter cube is is you have a Fisher middle layer like this where everything is offset by 45 degrees and the other layers are just normal so that means you can turn it like this you kind of turn this middle layer once and then everything can turn in its soft state like this you can't actually turn these sides you have to offset the middle layer first and now everything terms just like that now this is pretty much an inverse cutter cube now it's basically the exact same thing except instead of putting the Fisher layer in the middle you put a normal layer in the middle and you have Fisher cubes on both sides so if you had a Fisher cube it would look just this on both sides and it would look like that cube in the middle this is when you switch the pieces around and now it still turns on a 45 dis except it turns very differently this one actually looks a lot cooler when it scrambled up because it has all these pieces sticking out like this and I really do like solving it now this is also a cutter cube the one that I showed two times ago except it's a very old cutter cube that I made a very long time ago it is still a custom mod but as you can see it just doesn't look very good it doesn't look nearly as good as most of the mods that I make nowadays and yeah I just didn't make it very well but yeah it's basically my first through bathroom mod that I ever made so it still is pretty cool to have on display now here we have a 3×3 octagonal barrel it's also a 3×3 shape mod as you can see it's an octagon on top and basically what this is is if you start to make a Fischer cube and you cut off all the sides at 45 degree angles and then you don't extend these pieces outwards this is what you get it's kind of like a barrel except it's just not round along this whole side instead there's kind of eight faces just like this so here is a custom made and efforts bandaged cube so it's not made by the meffert's brand I made it myself but it's the same design as a famous bandaged cube made by meffert's and so basically a bandaged cube is when you take a 2×3 or any cube for that matter and kind of bandage it so that some of the sides can't turn so like these pieces are kind of stuck together these ones are stuck together these ones are stuck together so you can only turn some sides this one this one this one and it makes solving and scrambling even really really challenging it's just a really really hard puzzle and I've never really solved it completely here's another custom made bandaged cube it's actually a design that I came up with myself it has kind of this pattern on every single side which makes it a little bit easier to solve than the last one it's not a meffert's design you may notice stickers on this puzzle are different than most of the ones that I have on these mods over here and these months over here and my mains because this Mont I actually made quite a long time ago so these are just cube smith stickers so this was the first Vantage mod that I made and you might also be able to tell that just the quality underneath these stickers just isn't very good I just didn't make it very well it's not very smooth now here is a 3d printed Ghost cube it's actually one of the hardest puzzles that I have and takes a very long time to solve but I did 3d print it out of parts that I found online and yeah basically it doesn't really turn like you think it would it only turns on one axis it is a 3×3 shape mod but what you have to do is actually line everything up in a certain way like this and then you can turn the rest of the 3×3 like this and yeah it's just a very very hard challenge to get everything back into the correct shape and it's especially challenging because it's only one color this right here is the YJ access cube I did not make this one it's actually mass-produced it is a shape mod again of a through by three so as you can see it turns like this so this right here would be the center these are edges and these are corners and it's really cool because it has kind of this symmetrical design that you wouldn't expect to work like this now finally before we get to the barrels this is the rubik's muir cube so it's probably the worst turning your cube that you could get because it's a Rubik's brand a lot of people don't realize that Rubik's brand Mir cubes exist but they do basically it's also a 3×3 shape mod but instead of color determining which side something goes on it's actually the height of the piece which is what makes it a shape mod and it doesn't have any colors which makes it a little bit harder but it still is decently easy to solve alright so it is now time for the barrels now these are 100% custom mods I have made every single one of these out of the respective puzzles like for example the 2×2 barrel I made out of a 2×2 but before the 2×2 we have the 1×1 of course so of course this is a very challenging puzzle to solve it's so challenging that I don't think I ever have solved it and I probably won't in the future because it's just so difficult but this is a shape mod of the one by one we reached cube that you can find down there now this cube I don't have too much to say about it except that it's a 2×2 barrel and almost all of these barrel cubes actually shape ships so they kind of become a different shape as you turn the puzzle and this one in particular is unique compared to most of these puzzles because it actually solves exactly the same as its normal cube the 2×2 whereas most of these have additional challenges on top of their based puzzle now this right here is the through by 3 barrel now this is one of the first mods that I ever made much like the cutter cube and the bandaged cube over there which is why it has different colored stickers than the rest of my barrel cubes so yeah it's the oldest of the barrel cubes and pretty cool challenge it's a little bit harder than a normal Dubai 3 because these centerpieces can actually be rotated wrong if they're spun 90 degrees away from where they're supposed to be then the puzzle is not in fact solved and you have to do a special algorithm to fix it whereas normally on a normal 3 by 3 you can rotate the centres and it will be fine now here is the 4 by 4 barrel now as these barrel pulses get bigger the difference in solving them as compared to their based puzzles actually gets greater so the 2×2 is just like a 2×2 do by 3 is a little bit harder 4 by 4 is actually quite a bit harder and it gets even harder than the normal based puzzles as you get even higher up the 4×4 and so basically what you can have on this puzzle is you can have all four of these centerpieces all rotated together incorrectly just like on a 3×3 but you can also have individual centers switched around so you could have like this one switch with this one and that means that they would be wrong and they'd be all sticking up and the shape would just not be right now with the five by five barrel again it gets even more challenging on top of a path ID because you can have these pieces flipped around in the wrong places you can also have these other little pieces slipped around in the wrong places you could have the whole thing flipped around there's just a whole lot of different things that could go wrong and actually making the center pieces which is the first step of solving the cube it's actually a lot easier if you solve these for centerpieces first before solving the yellow and the white ones normally when I'm solving a bigger cube like a four by four or five by five six by six I would do the white and the yellow centers first but on this one it's actually easier if you do them last because it kind of gives you more room to maneuver and solve these pieces and put them all in the right place relative to each other whereas with these two sides it doesn't matter where these pieces are relative to each other they're all just white six by six again more challenging because you have more pieces that can be incorrect the interesting thing about this cube is that you actually have these kind of black spaces all over that normally you wouldn't have on a six by six and that's just because you have to cut into the puzzle so much to make it that the pieces kind of just start falling apart and you're kind of only left of like the roots of the pieces like this and that's what also leads to this kind of curbed feeling to these pieces and kind of like the little skinny corner piece up in the middle that's just because of the internal mechanism and how it works when you cut into it the seven by seven again all the same stuff applies and this is definitely the biggest puzzle that I have ever modded like this thing is just huge there are so many little tiny pieces and even those stickers keep falling off on these little corners now of course this is also the hardest barrel out of all the ones that I've shown you it's definitely harder than a normal seven by seven and it just looks really really cool when it's all scrambled up like this now here is a megaminx barrel my newest barrel I'm probably the newest cube in my entire collection I just finished making this one right before making this video and it's really interesting how it turns you can see it kind of does this turns like this it just does this really crazy shape-shifting way crazier than all of the rest of the barrels and it's just really interesting to solve and it actually has a seventh color which none of these other barrels have because it was made out of a dodecahedron and that is purple now this is a ready cube barrel if you remember the ready cube back there it's pretty much just that puzzle turned into a barrel nothing special about it it solves exactly the same way as that puzzle pretty simple puzzle and it looks pretty cool when a shape shifted this is a skew barrel it's just a barrel shape mod of a Scoob so it turns exactly the same way as a skew wood and actually solves the exact same way too here is the square one barrel and a very interesting thing about this puzzle is that it's the only one that doesn't really shape-shift so as you can see here you kind of turn everything and nothing really shape shifts it because when you do a turn like this it's still a barrel and when you do turns like this it's still a barrel so it's kind of interesting that the only WCA puzzle that does shape-shift when you turn it into a barrel it does not shape-shift anymore and this one is actually pretty challenging to solve because it's not cubic it does solve the exact same way as a square one is just kind of hard to remember the algorithms when you're not pushing against cubic corners this is a pyraminx barrel probably the strangest looking barrel in my collection it is a pyramix that tetrahedron shape turned into a barrel which looks very different than the original puzzle just as you would imagine it does 120 degree turns just like a pyraminx would and if you look on the bottom it looks pretty similar to what pyraminx it does not have tips so it doesn't have those useless little pieces on the ends of each of the center pieces and this was actually a very difficult mod to make it's up there with the megaminx for the hardest barrel puzzle that I have ever made here is the off-axis 3×3 barrel so yeah it's just a 3×3 barrel mod except instead of being a barrel mod like that one it is a totally different shape because it's barreled on a different axis so these are the corners instead of these centers the centers are actually right here and here here so yeah it still turns 90 degrees just like a 3×3 would it's just off a different axis this is the floppy cube barrel also a very recently made barrel puzzle as you can see here it's just a 1 by 3 by 3 which is a pretty normal puzzle I don't have a normal one because I made it into a barrel shape but yeah it's just that turned into a barrel so it's kind of like a flat barrel as you can see here and actually does have stickers on the insides of the pieces because I can do things like this and get into really weird shapes that you wouldn't imagine a puzzle like this would be able to do all right so now out of the dodecahedra the 12 sided puzzle is much like the megaminx that I showed you up there so first up this is the Killam inks or the kibbeh minx as some people like to call it so basically if the megamix for a 3×3 this would be the 2×2 it doesn't have any edges the edges are kind of hidden inside and it just has corners when this version the shank shot one came out a lot of people wanted it to become a WCA event but that didn't happen so far this is the meffert's megaminx my very first megaminx that I got along with most of the cubes that I got up there it actually has Cuse and the tiles on it like most of those puzzles up there too and it has a really weird color scheme that's very different than most other mega mixes that I have it doesn't turn that well because it's meffert's but it's not that terrible either this is a YJ yoohoo megaminx it kind of has a funny name basically it has my shades on it and it used to be my Mane but really it's just kind of unstable the pieces just kind of wobble around too much and I don't really like this kind of convex feeling of the pieces this is the QJ pyraminx crystal which doesn't turn very well but I got it for only $5 out of competition so I guess it's worth it anyways this kind of combination of AI megaminx because I had kind of these corners just kind of the same as a megaminx and a pyraminx because the pieces kind of shuffle around and get exchanged just like you would solve a pyraminx except there's a whole lot more of the pieces now this is the Sheng Xiao Jia Ming's definitely one of my favorite and biggest puzzles so if that were a 2×2 megaminx that were through by three this would be a 5×5 because it has an extra layer on every side so as you can see it turns pretty well compared to previous ki Cummings's that have been out in the past and it's just really really fun to solve it takes forever but really fun and there's just so many pieces that it's just hard to hold and I just love how big it is this is the transparent covens puzzle megaminx ball and so basically what this is is a megaminx just turned into a ball shape and so it turns just like i megaminx it's a little bit harder to turn because there's nothing to grip it's just a ball shape and it is transparent because it's a limited edition version but anyway it's just a ball simple shape mod pretty easy so this is another may coming shape mod also Calvin's brand and this one is a megaminx in the shape of a cube which is really hard to understand it's kind of pillowed but it is just a megaminx it turns in increments just like this just like a megaminx would and as you can see here this is a center these are all edges around it they all look really different and very unique but it has 12 sides just like a megaminx in turns exactly like one solves pretty much the same way too this right here is the super square one star you might have heard me complain about this cube before just because it's really just a terrible cube like it doesn't turn very well it's white I don't really like white puzzles and this inner part is just super weird cuz it gets out of alignment and just can't turn the puzzle to get everything lined up perfectly there we go now we can turn it and these layers all turn and honestly I don't really know how to solve it it's honestly quite the challenge so it's kind of a good puzzle in that sense but just the turning of this middle part is just so frustrating that like you line everything up down here and then this apart still out of alignment line everything up it's out of alignment again and then finally you can get it to turn so this right here is a four by four super cube so this is just a sticker mod of a four by four and so as you can see it turns and all the sides are exactly like a four by four except it has different stickers and so basically what you can do is you can make the arrows kind of face different directions and the goal is to get them all lined up in the correct direction which is all the same way so much like the four by four barrel it just makes it a lot harder because the center pieces can be oriented incorrectly and it's actually made out of AV cube for so you may notice that I have eight by eight through six by six up there the five by five is down there and this is the four by four I also put through by three coming up pretty soon now here is the three by three super cube which of course is just the three by three version of the last cube that I showed you and so yeah it is a little bit more challenging because you can have something like this I'll just show you one of the ways to solve it incorrectly the arrow is not facing in the correct direction so that means that this cube is not solved correctly and you have to do some special algorithms on it to get it so that it is indeed solved correctly now I actually got these stickers and these stickers for the 4×4 super cube from cube Smith which again just no longer exists but you can get some other stickers on other websites now here is a sticker mod of a cube that I actually made myself this one and the next one coming up I didn't make myself by actually cutting out little stickers which is why it doesn't look that great when you look up close some of them aren't cut perfectly but basically this is kind of like a checkerboard pattern of a mod and so basically it's kind of like a checkerboard pattern in between each of the pieces and you can do a checkerboard pattern on the cube like this and then it kind of looks different just kind of like a big checkerboard pattern kind of like you would have on a 6×6 well yeah it's kind of interesting to solve it's not too much harder than the normal three by three but it can be a little bit harder to get all these pieces in the right spot and this one I also made it's kind of like a pinwheel sticker mod so you kind of have these triangles coming out from the center and you can also do a checkerboard pattern on this one and it will look a little bit different kind of checkered all the way along here and again this one's a little bit challenging to solve but not really that bad it's actually a little bit easier than that one because these center pieces can be rotated any number of times and it will still be solved whereas that one if you – SNR 90 degrees it will not be solved now here is the date cube sticker Mon now I used to always display this cube up with all these other cubes up here but I no longer do it as you can see I haven't updated it for quite a while July 10th it's now December whatever so what you can do is actually move the puzzle around so if I can find e and the D I can make it December which it is right now here's the D see now it's December and then we can add to that the day and then find the sadder which is down here to make it Saturday December and then we find the three put that in here like this and then the zero to make it Saturday December 30th which is when this video is going to come out now here is a grayscale cube so basically what you have here is six different shades of gray all the way around the cube so we have white and black and all these other different shades in between I believe Rubik's does actually make a puzzle just like this but I actually put these stickers on myself from stickers that I got from cube Smith in fact the stickers for this cube as well as the day cube the last one we're both from cube Smith I actually did take all the black stickers off this puzzle because I wound up needing some black sticker material for a mod that I was doing and looked through all my puzzles and this was the only one with black stickers on it so yeah if you do a little pattern like this it's very hard to tell some of these colors apart as you can see here but it is still possible now here's the Minecraft cube so as you can probably tell from this one I used to like Minecraft and so what this is is it's a view cube 3 and they actually have a service call to create your cube where you can choose custom images and upload them onto the website and they'll actually make a cube with each of those images on each particular side so as you can see I chose a minecraft theme because I like that back then so yeah V cube nowaday is known to be a company that just doesn't make very good cubes but this is one of their very good services that I definitely would actually recommend people using is pretty much the only reason to buy a V cube nowadays now here is the Lego cube so much like minecraft you might be able to tell that I also used to like Legos you could also just look at my name and tell that too so basically what I did is I took a little mini cube and put Legos on each side just so that it fit all perfectly and it's actually a really fun cube to solve and you can actually span the goes across different pieces to bandage them which makes it even more fun and there's really just a lot of things that you can do with it and even turns pretty well here is the Chi 2 by 2 by 3 so it's just a cuboid puzzle to two by three as you can see here it's very simple to solve there's no weird shape-shifting or anything it just turns like this it's very easy even easier than a two by two so it's just a very fun little mass-produced cuboid probably the easiest cuboid that you can get that isn't super trivial like the one by one by three this is a custom-made 1 by 2 by 2 which is the kind of puzzle that you would call trivial because if you just turn each side sequentially like this there's only six possible combinations and you'll always end up solving it really quickly this is kind of a checkerboard pattern and now it's solved anyway I made this puzzle by taking 4 mini two by twos so one of them is right in the middle and then gluing extensions made out of the other two by twos onto each side and so basically it's like a 2×2 in the middle except you can't turn this side down the middle because I bandaged that you can just turn it like this now this is another 1 by 2 by 2 the exact same type of puzzle as before but this one is 3d printed so you see it has the same color plastic as the ghost cube over there also a 3d printed so it doesn't turn very well the pieces are kind of rattling around just because it's kind of hard to 3d print a puzzle like this but anyway it's still this turn decently this is a christmas-tree cube and I also just got this one for Christmas it is a 1 by 2 by 3 cuboid and so yeah it has Springs in the pieces which is pretty fun it makes it fun to do this and it just turns like this it's very simple puzzle to solve not a whole lot of combinations it's pretty trivial a puzzle because you always kind of end up solving it eventually and it has a little hook on top in case you want to use it as a Christmas ornament alright so now onto the tetrahedrons or the four-sided kind of pyraminx triangle puzzles first up we have the force cube so there's actually four of them in this category I'm just gonna drop a few of them anyway what a force cube is you take four of the same stickerless cubes or at least four four are pyraminx because it has four different sides and four different colors you separate all the colors out you take everything apart separate all the colors out and then reassemble all four cubes different colors like this so this one is blue so it has all the pieces of the blue sides of four different pyraminx 'iz and these are actually all made out of Diane pyraminx –is which don't turn very well and currently there are no stickers on any of them so there's no real challenge to solving it it's always solved I guess but it still is pretty interesting and pretty fun to look at so this is the Chi pyraminx one of the kind of early really good speed cute pyraminx is I did use it for a little while as my main it isn't that great to today's standards but it was pretty good back then it actually uses ball bearings on the inside much like a lot of old pyramix Kaczynski was used to do to get the pieces to kind of all click into place but now that job is done by magnet in most of these puzzles up here as well as new peering tsa's and noose cubes this one is also a ball bearing pyraminx it is the shangzhou pyramix and i use this one also for a very long time as my main it's actually modded normally it doesn't have this big gap in the middle but i modded it to make it turn a whole lot better than most sheng shop here mixes do and I use this forever as my main it has my shades and everything on it and yeah just a really nice puzzle not up to today's standards but I really liked it back in the day this is the mo you magnetic pyraminx which of course has magnets in it it's a very modern-day pyraminx and most people say it's the best pyraminx around personally i like the x-men bill a little bit better of course because it's my main anyway has my shades on it and it just turns really well but it's kind of a little bit wobbly and I like the turning the feeling of that one a little bit better the tips don't really stay into place that well I actually did mod them a little bit to stay into place a little bit better but yeah overall I liked it a lot it's a little bit too fast for me though these are the pyraminx duos so this is a meffert's puzzle originally created by oscar vin diverter and basically I have two of them because I'm a mistake when I originally bought them and no I'm not going to sell one to you I've gotten that question way too many times basically it's kind of like a pyramids with its shape and these kind of corner pieces but it also has these centerpieces but it does not have edges so every time you turn a corner all the three center pieces surrounding it I'll turn along with the corner piece so that kind of creates an interesting solve but it's actually very easy to solve anyway now this is the shangzhou master pyraminx which is pretty much just a 4×4 version of the pyraminx which makes it quite a lot harder it's actually quite the challenge to solve which is pretty fun it has the tips and this layer and this layer and this layer which is bigger than a normal pyraminx of course and yeah it's just a whole lot of different weird things that you can do on the cube that you wouldn't be able to do with a normal pyraminx lots of different pieces and it's pretty fun so this right here is a mod that I made myself it's also a 3×3 shape mod and so we have the center pieces here the edges and the corners and everything and it turns in 45 degree increments like this so it's very interesting it's called the master morphix it's basically a cube turned into a tetrahedron this is the shangzhou master morphix which is pretty much just a mass-produced version of the cube that I just showed you and as you can see it is pillowed which in my opinion doesn't look quite as good but it still does function in the exact same way you can do 180 degree turns 90 degree turns like this and it's shape-shifts really cool and it's quite hard to solve now this is the mo u mega morphix which is pretty much the same concept as the master morphix except now it is a four by four turned into a tetrahedron instead so it turns exactly the same as a four by four wood it's actually quite a bit more challenging just like a super cube was just like the four by four barrel was because of these center pieces that can be moved around wrong and it only has four colors which is quite interesting and makes it quite a bit different to solve than other 4×4 mods like the barrel or the super cube this is a q-twist square one as you can see C 4 cube twist this is one of the square ones that came out before any of the speed cube square ones came out and basically I just turned really badly and it pops a lot I like to do this just turn it like this and try and corner cut and that happens now this is the GE square one and if you try and do the exact same thing hey look it actually turns now this cube kind of revolutionized square one solving it was the first actual speed cube square one which was really good and a lot of people started solving it back then anyway it still is pretty much up to par with most modern square ones some people still use it over the bolt which is what I use it still is a very good turning square one corner cuts and everything just like you would expect on modern speed cube – this is the guanlong square one it is very close in performance to the GE square one it was made as kind of like a budget alternative to that so yeah I still this turn pretty well does the exact same thing when you try and twist it like that and it just turns pretty well the reason it does not have two tickers on it is I was restoring my ex main square one which is up there and I took the stickers off of it and realized that it was not the x-men's square one it was the guanlong square one which I did not have stickers for so yeah now does not have stickers but it still is a very good cute this is the LAN LAN Scoob again this existed before most of these like kind of speed cubes and it turns like this it sounds terrible and has so many clicks and just is not very great and the original version popped a hole time which made it kind of unusable for speed solving so what I did to fix that is put Legos on the inside and these act as a part of the mechanism called a torpedo which kind of prevents pieces from popping out and they exist in most modern speed cubes naturally I just had to add them to this cube to prevent it from popping this is the mo u s– cube one of the first kind of speeds cubes that came out when scoob first became an event in 2014 and turns really well I mean not that great compared to modern standards but it still does turn very much better than the atlanteans cube and it has my shades on it and everything now this is a mo you magnetics cube kind of the better version of that last cube and like it sounds it has magnets in it instead of ball bearings and so this one turns incredibly well it's kind of second to the x-men wing II in my opinion and I also use this as my main for a while which is why it has my custom shades on it as I did with pretty much all the scoob's that I own now this is the Chi East cube that came out a little bit after the original no use cube and was a little bit better than that Scoob but it still came out before the mou magnetics cube and emo you magnetics cube did definitely beat it out but in between those two cubes I definitely did use this one and it was a very good skew but set lots of personal records on this one now finally the force cube so much like the force pyraminx is what you do is you take six cubes because there are six colors on Ice Cube you take apart all of them and then you separate them out into individual colors and then make one SKU for every single color so now you have all these different colors of cubes like blue and white all these different colors that you couldn't originally have you now have from making force cubes now these two 3×3 is all coming up are all my historic through both remains so every single one of these have been one of my main through batteries at one point in time the first of which was the GU Hong so this cube came out before most of the other cubes you even see here and it was kind of said to revolutionize speed cubing it kind of just changed the way that speed cubes were designed forever and it was my first feet cube despite there being better speed cubes out there when I first started cubing now this right here is the dayan zhanchi so the same brand as the GU Hong but it was made a little bit afterwards so it became my main a little bit afterwards it was basically a little bit of a slight improvement to the two Hong and it was a very very popular speed queue one of the most popular speed cubes that ever existed now this is another dayan zhanchi but it's in black instead of stickerless plastic and so the reasoning for this cube is my first competition was coming up US Nationals 2014 and strick ulis cubes were not legal back then and so I had to get a sticker cube to make up for that and be able to use it in a competition this was actually the first cube that I ever put my custom cubical shades on I kind of made up some shades and put them on this cube and I really liked them and so I put them on a lot of my cube since then all my mains up there and all my past-due breath remains from this point on now this is another black dayan zhanchi it's actually a mini one so it's actually 55 millimeters instead of the standard 57 millimeters it's actually Lubich skewed so the company Lubich actually set it up and put lube in it and everything but I used to use this as my main 4 one-handed because it was smaller than most other cubes nowadays I usually just use whatever my through by three main is for one-handed because most do by threes these days are 56 millimeters now this is ammo you weigh long it actually turns pretty well even up to modern-day standards it is still pretty decent and you might have heard my stories behind this before basically I bought this cube 10 minutes before the 3×3 round at Nationals 2014 started and so I bought this black Sanchi a few months before to prepare for it and then I bought this cube right before I started competing which was kind of a terrible decision but I still did do pretty well so I guess it was worth it now this is the cheeky thunderclap it beat on my way long after that was my main for over a year it's just a very good turning puzzle I don't have too much to say about it it's very cheap it's like nine dollars which is very good deal even today and it might even be worth using as a main speed cube and now finally we have the Volk 3 the last of my former mains so this cube is very good a lot of people still use it to this day as their main speed cubes it's one of the best like three or four main speed cubes that are out there in the market these days this one doesn't turn particularly great but I did beat out my thunderclap pretty quickly because it was really good right out of the box anyway I've done a lot of experimenting on this one in particular which is why it doesn't turn that great anymore lubes a ton of different times put magnets in it this is actually the first cube that I ever put magnets in and at one point I even put a Mangala of tension system inside of this cube and so where you'd normally have Springs I actually put magnets which repelled against each other and created tension now in here I have a Gann GES system which is kind of a tensioning system that Gann uses for their cubes so much like my Keon 356 RSM up there same system in this cube so this is the V Cube 6b so that cube up there was the original V cube 6 this one has an all new mechanism that doesn't have that annoying clicking part to it it just kind of turned smoothly just like most normal cubes and is pillowed which is kind of annoying but they added the pillowed feeling and they added a new mechanism for alignment in the middle so that it wouldn't be all clicky and annoying now here is the vq5 I accidentally got in white because I don't know much like DB cube 7 that's also in white out of place with all the rest of the cubes anyway I got this cube back a long time ago with my Rubik's 5×5 after I realized that it wasn't very good started using this cube and actually I was using this cube as my main when I got the ution 5×5 so I've kind of only ever had three main 5×5 this one being the middle one which is kind of surprising given that it turns just so badly now this is the new island windstorm 4×4 it actually turns pretty well for a 4×4 but new island is kind of a weird company that's been known for knocking off other company's cubes they asked me to do a review on this cube and they sent me two of them so yeah this is the cube this is the stickerless new island windstorm 4×4 it is a new island windstorm 4×4 but it is stickerless this right here is the MOU way super before this one came right before the alsoo which is my current mane and it just doesn't turn quite as well you have to have it really tight so that it doesn't pop these kind of internal pieces would pop a lot this is a cheeky whoo to a 4×4 which I don't think I've shown on my channel before but it is pretty much like the most popular 4×4 that's out right now and it's one of the best for sure personally I do still like my house to a little bit better the performance on these two cubes are so very similar that you just can't really tell them apart I just like the feeling on my ask you a little bit more plus it has my shades and everything but yeah it's still a really good 4×4 I just use my house ooh this is the mo you lingpo 2×2 one of the earlier kind of 2×2 speed cubes it still is pretty good even up to say standards and I used it for my main into by 2 for quite a while this is the mo you WIPO kind of just an improvement upon the lingpo and I also use this as my main for quite a while you just have magnets in it but you can't really feel them and personally I do like this one that I use this my main a little bit better this is a guanlong 2 by 2 it's pretty much just supposed to be a budget 2 by 2 but it still does turn very well so it's a very good option if you want a cheap to buy 2 this is a YJ glow-in-the-dark 2 by 2 and well it glows in the dark the plastic is just kind of special so that it will do that but it doesn't turn very well it's not a very good – I do this is the v-cube – which I used as my second ever to buy two main after the land land 2×2 up there and before the lingpo and yeah I did mod this cube it normally doesn't have these big wide-open holes in the center and it turns a little bit better because of that but still just not very good compared to most bottom speed cubes the cubes are not speed cubes this is V Cube to be and much like the B cube 6 in the 6b it's just a pillared version of the V Cube – not much to special about it I did bought it a little bit to make it turn better not in the same way as the V Cube – this is a 1 by 1 by 2 that I made back out of me myself and pies original tutorial on how to make one of these it's made out of Legos as you can see on the inside and yeah I just kind of followed that tutorial and this is what I wound up with it only has four possible combinations so yeah very trivial puzzle and I even the rubix logo on it these are 2 1 by 1 roof cubes that I made myself and much like the 1 by 1 barrel very very difficult cubes to solve I believe they are in fact magnetic yeah there we go so yeah that helps with the solving process but still very very challenging cube to solve I don't know if I'll ever be able to solve them and now we have the 1×1 pyraminx and so of course we had the normal pyraminx which is kind of like a 3×3 we had the 4×4 and how we have the 1 by 1 again a very very difficult puzzle to solve I don't think I'll ever solve it in my life all right so now onto the final row of Dubai trees so first up here is a Rubik's brand cube this is just a normal Rubik's brand cube the kind that's been around for decades not any special speed cube or anything just normal but this is probably the best turning Rubik's brand cube that you have ever seen it has my shades on it it has magnets on the inside as you can see it kind of snaps into place and it's just modded so that it turns SuperDuper well this right here is just a random cheese sale it really has no point I use these cubes for modding because they're only like 3 or 4 dollars and they turn pretty well for what they are this here is a YJ guanlong which is also a good budget cube and I used to use these for modding before I got my cheesy sale this one in particular is actually magnetic as magnets and all the pieces and it's actually a lot harder to make this cube magnetic than most other cubes this right here is an old knockoff 1980s cube that I put Ljubica silicon which is a modern cube lubricant in order to make it turn a little bit better you can go ahead and watch that video if you want to see it turn this is also just kind of a fairly old dollar store Rubik's brand if you've ever seen my video how to make a dollar store cube turn awesome well this is that cube it's not really that great in fact I actually have purple on this side so that I could use it in a green screen because there's no green on the cube this right here is an old Changsha win 3×3 that I had laying around it used to be the cube that I made mods with like that super cube over there Calendar cube grayscale cube as well as like the old cutter cube and maybe even the barrel all made with this type of cube and this one in particular I use underwater a lot this right here is the shang xiao fang yuan through by 3 it was one of shangzhou his first attempts at a modern 3×3 speedcube and they did pretty well with it now this is the shank shop pearl 3×3 which was pretty much just an updated version of the finger one and it turns a little bit better than that one this is a Gua Gua nuke shell Pro which is actually a pretty good modern speed cube it's not quite up to par with things like the vulgar the Gann or the whaling GTS but it's pretty close to that and it just has a really unique turning style to it and I kind of like it this is rubik's is original speed cube that I came out with a few years ago also known as Rubik's is a failed attempt at anything close to a speed cube this is rubik's is second attempt at a speed cube although it seems like the cube was entirely made by can and then just branded as a Rubik's brand cube piece it's actually pretty decent not like I'm adding speed cube but it still is pretty nice it's still pretty blocky feeling but it does finally have modern speed cube like performance this is one of Rubik as new speed cubes that I put magnets in to improve stability unfortunately some of the magnets kind of fell out this is the MFD rs2 by far the best budget cube that I own it's pretty cheap and the performance is just amazing compared to pretty much any budget cubes I have came before this is a cubicle labs version of the MFT rs2 which means that is been magnetized by the cubicle and not myself and this is basically my main cube at this point I don't have it up there quite yet but I'm pretty sure this is just going to be my main because it's just so amazing it's such a cheap speed cube it's set up really really well and it's pretty close to being on par up the performance of my main game cube which is $50 I just like the feel of this one a lot better this is the San Juan Mars s2 by three one of these kind of weird mid-range three by threes that I don't really know a whole lot about the performance is decent and the feel of it is very unique I don't really know what to say about it this is a stickerless version of the vol 3 that she sent to me along with the original Valk 3 right there this one actually turns part of better now because I haven't done a whole lot to it it has the original Springs and everything and it's pretty nice this is just a really weird through but three that I don't know a lot about some random person walked up to me at a cubing competition and just kind of handed it to me obviously it is Chi brand but it turns really badly it feels like it was over lubed weirdly and it has the wrong colour scheme I think he might have done that on purpose to this cube but yeah I don't really know what cube it is so it's just kind of this mysterious random old bad turning te cube this is a YJ guanlong plus 3×3 so I talked about the normal guanlong earlier this was just an improved version of it it's still pretty cheap but the performance is just quite a better than that one and finally we have the thing she strong run 3×3 a fairly old 3×3 older than most of these around the same time period as these anchee and it turns pretty well I mean it's nothing spectacular but it kind of has this weird plastic which is what is unique about it it is actually a cube so I did get it from Lu bik's much like my Sanchi over there and the really interesting thing about this cube is no matter how you Lube it it has this really nice sandy feeling to it right out of the box which is really interesting and you can't really get rid of it besides just doing a couple hundred selves on it it's kind of starting to go away on my cube but it's just a really unique and cool turning cube and finally we have the transparent Y ju-long force cubes and so basically what I did is I made four cubes with these just like I did with the pyramix is and thus cubes and so the original puzzle that I made them out of was actually a transparent stickerless Y ju-long which is why the rest of them are now transparent this one is my favorite one I actually have transparent stickers on them too which makes it look really really cool I sticker them all up these are the only force cubes that I've actually ever steered up and this one by far is the coolest looking one out of all of those and they don't turn that bad either anyway I have them in all six colors and they all have these stickers on them and it's very hard to see some of the colors on some of these different colored plastic cubes anyway I think we are finally pretty much finished with this video this is definitely the longest of this type of video that I have ever made and man I can barely talk anymore anyway if you actually manage to watch this far into the video leave a comment down below about chickens so that I know that you watch to this point and I think that that is pretty much it for this video so I will see you guys next time bye
