Charles Brown on Google Book Search

>>Brown: I’m very pleased to be here at the
invitational Howard Law School, to talk about the Google book search project, which is a
true revolution in terms of access to printed materials for blind people. Millions and millions
of books that blind people could never get before, they’ll now be able to get through
digitized formats. They will allow us who are in school and fashions and business to
have opportunities for equality…equality of opportunity that we’ve never had before,
and I praise Google for their willingness to address issues of access technology for
blind and print-disabled folks, and certainly hope that the settlement they’ve reached with
the authors and publishers will be favorably viewed and adopted by the courts.
