DISPERSE: MRI compatible ASIC for hearing implants
For the DISPERSE project MinDCet has developed
a methodology to develop MRI compatible ASICs. As a use case we designed the ASIC for a biomedical
hearing aid implant, that has been tested successfully in a 1.5T MRI scanner. As we speak we are now doing tests on a 3T MRI scanner and sofar results are looking good and promising. The outcome of the project for MinDCet will be that we will have now a methodology to develop mag-hard ASICs. With mag-hard we understand compatible or
tolerant to high magnetic and RF fields. These ASICs can then be used in harsh environments and also in biomedical implants where the patient needs to go in to an MRI scanner.
