now might be pouring down here in South
Korea but Western Europe is having the opposite problem at the moment it is
sweltering under an intense heat wave with record all-time high temperatures
being broken over and over again in certain countries for more on this and
other news from around the world let's turn to our Hong U so what countries are
we talking about here and just how are they coping well maar countries in
Western Europe such as Belgium the Netherlands and Germany smashed all time
temperature records on Thursday afternoon because of this heat wave
Belgium topped all time records twice on the same day with the mercury touching
forty point seven degrees Celsius north and Germany set a new national
temperature record at least three times Thursday with the highest heating
forty-two point six degrees Celsius this second heat wave of the month arrived
from the Sahara Desert as its caldron of hot air was pushed up north by high
pressure into the European continent climate scientists warned this could
become the new normal as a result of global warming from greenhouse gas
emissions in attempts to deal with the sizzling weather Europeans and tourists
were seen jumping into Fountains lakes rivers and the sea the heat wave is
worse for them to deal with as many countries in Europe do not have
air-conditioning installed indoors under heat alerts governments are advising
people to stay indoors and well hydrated
