the first ever photograph taken of a
black hole has been named a breakthrough of the year by the journal science back
in April an international team of astronomers and researchers released
image of the black hole at the center of the galaxy Messier 87 now black holes
are invisible but the picture shows two super hot materials spinning around it
which forms a ring of light that reveals the silhouette of the object in the
middle and the photograph finally validated decades of work by scientists
theorizing about an esoteric object no one could actually see upon its release
the picture became the most downloaded image in the history of the National
Science Foundation’s website
