Especially because its spiritually inspiring. Reply jason thatcher says: December 10, 2019 at 9:37 pm So, by the power of good fortune, or perhaps the sneaky ever watchful eye behind the curtain at youtube, this video happened to come up on my screen. I am so grateful that it did!! Immediately, I looked up the web page for these guys , thinking that, surely, they would be touring in New England at some point, only to find that I did not recognize the names of any of the towns they were visiting, and why did they all end with (NO) 🙂 ok, silly me.. I did actually recognize some of the names.. I guess that we will have to look into making a trip to Norway! I am trying to come up with the sweetest, most sincere compliment that I can for the artists who make up the Hayde Bluegrass Orchestra and who put together this moving rendition. How about this.. when we arrive at customs after getting off of the plane, and the Norwegian Customs Officer asks us "What brings you from a little town in Maine all the way to Norway?" , we will smile and say "The Hayde Bluegrass Orchestra!" Reply Sybille Thorairajoo says: December 11, 2019 at 8:10 pm OMG – what a discovery! Great music! Reply Joe Blow says: December 16, 2019 at 3:27 am I've heard many versions through my old ears….this version is heavenly..thanks so much Hayde… Reply Tim P says: December 17, 2019 at 3:17 am In the beginning, I think she said "traveling this world alone" That is not in the original lyrics and it is not biblically correct since we have the Holy Spirit. Otherwise, a job well done! Reply paulj0557 says: December 18, 2019 at 4:18 am BRING BACK SUBDUED DOWN HOME/GOSPEL GROUPS. .. I still prefer the 1970's albums with less overtly commercialized praise going on. Something special about records with occasional voices that are more one-off amateurish sounding, but are full of feeling and personality…their own! I really like 'family groups', like The Cooke Duet*. Their album entitled, The Cooke Duet & Sons – A Place I've Never Been is great! Hubert's and Jeanette's voices are the best you'll ever hear…years of playing live will do that. They are the real deal! No commercial fluff here, just their great voices and the best musicians around TENN come recording time. The McCubbin's Family – Peace Joy and Love . The combined family/friends groups…but never over 8 members…more than this loses personality. The Angelaires Gospel Team – He Leads Us Along album has an incredible version of The Lighthouse .[note: this is not the The Angelaires Gospel Team gospel group that currently is together and with several videos on Youtube, but possibly could be of the same lineage. Possibly. I am born and raised in Columbus,Ohio ,and have lived in California and Florida. However now I am living in South-East Ohio, in Gallipolis,OH. The thrift stores and yard sales are mini goldmines for these great records”. I never knew what to categorize this music as. We just called it down home gospel. I just picked up a really good album this past weekend. The album is THE GOSPEL MESSENGERS – READY TO LEAVE . The album is from around 1975-77', as the sleeve states this local group, [ Gallipolis ( 2 members) / Point Pleasant,WV(2 members) ] formed in 1974. This is a great record! Trust me. 😊 Reply Gary Teague says: December 18, 2019 at 9:33 pm Great job , haunting Reply 7Steveski says: December 19, 2019 at 2:41 pm "I'm going there to see my father…my mother.."
