How to Clean Vinyl Records : Storage Tips for Vinyl Records

I’ve got a few more tips I want to throw at
you about storing your records to make sure they take the least damage and they stay in
great condition. One of the biggest tips is you keep them somewhere dry. If you leave
them in the musty basement in your grandmother’s house for like a year or two, moisture, if
it’s moist in there, moisture can get in, your records really can start to mold. That
will be bad for the covers, it’s bad for the record, though you can clean the mold off
the record and you’ll probably be okay if it hasn’t taken too much damage. Even more
important than that, keep aware from extreme temperatures. Keeping them in the freezing,
or even worse, the very warm, or anything that fluctuates temperature often, that’s
what causes the record to warp, and a warp, sure fire way to cause a skip and you’re going
to ruin great records if you’re going to do that. Keep them somewhere where it stays the
same temperature pretty much the whole time, it doesn’t get moist, that’s the way you want
to do it.
