JOAQUÍN está de RÉCORD 💚🔝

The beginning of matches
are not going our way lately. It’s true that we weren’t good
in the first minutes either. It’s due to some details and because
they counterattack at the smallest mistake. We weren’t focused enough, though. Just one mistake and we… we got a guy sent off
and conceded the goal. Unfortunately you find yourself trailing 0-1
against a physically strong team that works really well. They don’t give up any chance of
counterattacking, any play. They’re constantly committing fouls,
trying set pieces, wasting time and it’s really complicated. I think that’s why we have to value
this point as it is but knowing that we have to be
a more intelligent team at the beginning of games and realising
that it’s not the same to start with 0-0 in the score than with 0-1. Having to come back is always really
tough against any team. Even tougher with one man less. We have to be happy if
we take a look at that because I think the team
managed to come back. I think we were the only team
on the pitch that wanted to win. The only team that tried,
the only team that had the ball. Suffering, though, because when
you are a man down you’ve got to take risks but I think we deserved to geat a draw and we didn’t stop there,
we went for the win. At the same time, we knew that they could, at any point,
launch a counterattack and take the lead. After doing the most difficult part,
the team kept their composure. So I’m happy, happy for that
part and… and also screwed, as I was saying,
because we can’t begin the matches… losing. Because the game gets
really tough and it’s difficult. It’s already difficult to win
when you are 0-0 and it’s even harder
when you’re trailing in the score. Well, I grabbed the ball
with the idea of taking it but I’m not really sure if Sergio or Nabil
wanted to take it, too. Then Sergio told me:
“No, you take it.” “Yeah, I know.
I’m taking it.” Well… I wanted to score for many reasons. For adding another one to the count,
for tying the score up, obviously and for what it means, Not only for the game itself but for what it means to me
to score at Benito Villamarín. I’m happy. Happy because these are important records in the team
and the club that are my life. These are exciting numbers. But… I’ve always said that it’s something
beautiful for me, of course. It’s always beautiful and special to be there but
the most important thing for me is to be. Just to be. Being important for the team
and helping, obviously.
