Longest videogame marathon on a Need for Speed game – Guinness World Records
I’m Florian Fleissner and I am Kenny Drews. We set the Guinness World Records title for the longest videogame marathon on a Need for Speed game after playing for 33 hours. The things I like most about Need for Speed, is the open worlds. Also that there are so many options for tuning the cars and the race tracks. Yes, and let’s not forget the car chases with the police and the destruction of the vehicles, which is very realistic. We were basically keen to do something that nobody else had done, and wanted to have a Guinness World Records certificate to hang on the wall at home. The worst thing was the sleep deprivation. After the 30 hour mark we went slowly downhill. On top of this, the cars do not get slower but actually get faster towards the end of the game, meaning we had to concentrate more and more, despite feeling increasingly tired, so that was the hardest part. You just had to maintain tunnel vision and somehow get through it. Well, it was definitely an experience and I mean, these are really dream cars that I’m unlikely to own in real life. That would be my dream though. Definitely. A super experience. Well, I think when you open the book and read your own name, and it says that you have set a world record, which is truly unique, at least until it is broken again, then yes, that’s a great feeling. Yes, you can certainly be proud of yourself!
