Man breaks world record travelling 85mph in jet-powered suit: ‘Like a superhero’
So we’ve just seen Richard Browning
make two valid attempts at the fastest speed in a jet suit. He had to beat his own record
of 32 miles-an-hour and he absolutely smashed it
on the second attempt – 85.06. – We were confident that we should
be able to do it but you can never, you know, discount the possibility
of having a technical problem, so I’m really very pleased that we
have delivered what we’ve done. And that is, indeed, the fastest
I’ve ever been. In training we’ve been about
75, so that’s significantly faster. A lot has changed since the last
time we flew the suit. It’s, under the skin, an entirely
different suit. – Richard really embodies the spirit
of adventure and everything that we stand for at Guinness World Records. He’s always pushing himself
to better his achievements. He’s inspirational.
I think kids all round the world who’ll read about this real life
Iron Man, he’s like a superhero.
