How to produce instrumental music. Instrumental
music, basically there won’t be any lead vocal on it, it’s not that you won’t have people
oohing and aahing, you won’t have these background sounds and vocals, but there won’t be a lead
melody line taking up by a vocal. It gives you the opportunity to take a lead instrument
and play it all the way through. You might have your basic rhythm section, drums and
bass put together. You might have your sectional changes but at some point in each section
there will be a different lead instrument that won’t be a vocal whether it’s a guitar
or a horn of some kind or other stringed instrument, there’s something that will be taking that
lead line that maybe the vocal would have in another case. Jazz in a lot of instances
works that well even symphonic things you’ll notice different solos come in, different
sections in symphonic music because there is no vocal. And it kind of gives someone
the ability in certain areas of the song to kind of demonstrate their chops.
