Ohio primary election registration deadline looming
First News is your local election headquarters. NEW THIS MORNING – The Ohio Primary is exactly one month away . And tomorrow is the last day to register to vote in the primary election. First News reporter Brooke Meenachan joins us live in studio with what you need to know before heading to the polls. The 2020 election season is in full swing and we’re just a month out from the primary election here in Ohio. So if you’re thinking of heading to the polls in March – tomorrow is the last day to register to vote or make any corrections on your current registration list. In order to vote in Ohio – you must be at least 18 years-old and be an Ohio resident for at least 30 days prior to the election. In Ohio – you can now register online through the Ohio Secretary of State’s website. You’ll need your name, date of birth, address, an Ohio ID and the last four digits of your social security number. Or you can fill out a registration form at your county board of elections. Ohio will most likely have 11 candidates on the ballot for the presidential primary. 10 Democrats and one republican as President Donald Trump seeks re- election. Some important dates to keep in mind…. Again – the deadline to register to vote is tomorrow at 9 p.m. Early voting begins on Wednesday, February 19th and ends March 16 with the primary election beginning March 17. Come then – polls will open at 6:30 in the morning and close at 7:30 that night. You must cast your ballot in your precinct…which is the same place you confirmed your registration. And in Order to vote you’ll need an Ohio ID. The deadline to register is tomorrow tonight at 9 p-m.
