Do you need to register your company for
vat? Do you urgently need a vat number? Well we can assist. In order for us to register or to help you register your company for value added tax the very first thing that we require is that that company must be registered on efiling and then the second step to the e-file registration processes is that the representative must be activated. If those two steps didn’t happen then sorry, we won’t be able to assist. We must first get those two things sorted out then we can run through the application. So under normal circumstances the vat application is actually quite straightforward. The whole system gets done online on the e-filing system and we can normally do that application maybe within about half an hour, up to maybe an hour’s time, we can actually have the vat application in. Sometimes if you really lucky, SARS issues you with a vat immediately but under normal circumstances SARS would actually issue you a letter to say that there’s certain documents that you need to take to a SARS branch in person for them to do a verification first. And in the normal circumstances they will ask you for a copy of your ID document. They will ask you for a copy of the registration documents in case of a company. They will ask you for the banking details of the company, the address of the company. Contact details and the address of the public office or the representative that was appointed on efiling as well
and then obviously if we can assist you with the application, is the proof of payment. How the process normally works from there is once you go through to the SARS branch they will do verification on those documents if they’re happy with everything that they gave them then they would issue you with the vat number immediately and you will get your vat certificate. Under certain circumstances they might actually go out to do a site inspection first and then only once they’ve completed that site inspection then your company will be issued with a vat number. So if you’re not sure or whether you need any help with the vat application, feel free to contact us you. You can either complete the contact us form on the contact us page or otherwise you’re welcome to give us a call and
then we can see how we can be of assistance.
