We’re back here. Since last video we have over 100 suscribers. So welcome all the new people. Many of you in the last month Today I’m giving you 5 tips to keep your records clean Get the best sound and make them last for many years Welcome to ViniloEnfermos #1 Use plastic outer sleeves and antistatic inner sleeves. For the jackets I use these plastic sleeves these are 400’s, they come in different thickness and size. I always use this type. Some people prefer this thinner autosealed sleeves. For gatefold jackets you can find these double sleeves so you can open the gatefold inside the sleeve To store the records the are a few options Paper sleeves like these closed, with one or two holes I don’t like these paper sleeves because they can leave scuffs on the records I’d rather choose something with antistatic plastic. There are pure plastic sleeves Like these. Squared For the singles sometimes I combine both types I put the antistatic sleeve inside the paper To give it strength specially fon paper sleeve singles For the 12″ many people recommends Mofi sleeves They are too expensive for me. I chose this intermediate option. Paper sleeves with antistatic plastic fixed inside You get rid of paper scuffs I think it’s a perfect solution and cheaper than Mofis #2 Never touch the record surface with your fingers Always take the records from the edge or with your fingers on the label. #3 Always clean your records before you play them Everytime? Yeah, everytime in theory. Very often I forget to do it and realise it when the music is on. So I don’t stop it and clean it. But the right thing is to do it everytime. I use 3 things. The carbon fiber brush The Velvet brush And the “In the Groove” cleaning roll I usually use one of the brushes and then the roll Or just the roll sometimes because I feel there is no dust left for the stylus to catch. #4 Keep your stylus clean Everything said before was to keep your records clean so our stylus won’t catch much dust and dirt. You have to clean the stylus anyway sometimes depending on the hours of use And how often you clean your records I recommend a cleaning fluid with brush like this. Looks like the eyelash thing And we have to clean the stylus in a in and out direction, paralel to the tonearm #5 Clean your your records with record cleaning fluid. There are YouTube tutorials that explain how to make your homemade solution But I prefer to buy it. Anyway. It’s important to use at least a microfiber cloth and liquid record cleaner I recommend to use a record washing mashine There are expensive automatic machines, or manual The top selling manual washing machine is the Spin Clean I bought this other model This liquid came with the cleaning machine and see how dirty is the bottom Next I bought a 5 litres bottle Cause it’s important to do a wet cleaning of the records You get rid of static And it’s the only way to deep wash your records I chose this cleaner over the Spin Clean For this part here that is the rotation axis and also protects the labels It’s not totally hermetic with thinner vinyl, but works pretty well keeping the liquid away from the labels You have to turn the record 3 or 4 times Then pull it out out , shake it and let it drip on the the tray. These are the 5 tips I wanted to give you I hope you found them useful, leave any comments below Hit the like button Share the video and suscribe to the channel. Un saludo!
