What is the I AM EQUAL Photo Documentary?

MUSIC The I AM EQUAL Photo Documentary
is an ambitious project from creators, Jason Beckett and
fashion photographer, Matt Spencer. The project aims to connect individuals
from all walks of life in a record-breaking campaing that
celelbrates the diversity of humanity. The project is really about celebrating
the unique diversity of individuals; and that everyone is passionate about something
different in their life, and that’s okay. Everyone has a purpose and a passion in life and equality is about letting each individual
express that in their own unique way. Reaching across 175 cities around the world
and capturing more than 100,000 individual photos makes the I AM EQUAL Photo Documentary
one of the largest projects in history, and gives you the opportunity to leave a permanat mark
on behalf of issues and causes you support. When people come to participate
in the I AM EQUAL Photo Documentary they come for a lot of different reasons. Women’s rights, children’s rights, Gay and Lesbian issues, domestic diolence issues, clean drinking water, even animal rights, or autism. There’s a lot of different reasons people choose
to bring their voice to the conversation. To give you an idea of how big the project really is, imagine each of the photos from this photo documentary were 2 inch tiles, and laid into a giant mosaic. That mosaic image would be a
record-breaking 8,000 square feet! It’s a big project. If I wanted to just break a world record I could
take photos of buttons or puppy dogs, or anything; But, really this is about giving people a tool
to open up a conversation of Human Rights and Equality with friends, family, or even a stranger
who sees it and asks what this is about. Well, that’s their opportunity to start talking
about the issues and causes that are important to them. The real magic of this project happens when
you share your photo with friends and family. That’s right, we’ll make sure you get your photo
so you can show it off to the world. The simple act of posting, printing, emailing, or sharing your photo can open up a whole world of possibilities for educating, inspiring, and empowering
friends and family to get involved in making our communities a better place. The real magic and impact of this project happens
when the individuals choose to share their photo. The put them on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, Gmail, Google Plus,
and whatever other social networks there are right now. They share them and initiate a conversation. Because how could you not be curious about this iconic photo? People ask, “What is it?” “What does it represent?” Even if they just comment and say,
“Wow, that’s a great photo!” It’s an opportunity to talk about
the issues and causes that you support. Because, people are not mean spirited by nature,
but they certainly are ignorant; They don’t know what they don’t know. So, part of the project is encouraging people to educate their friends and family. Over the next several years, this documentary project
will trabel around the world with an open invitation for all people to step up, join the movement, and be part of history. Bring your friends and family, invite your community. Get your churches, synagogues, and congregations involved. Bring your clubs, service groups, and charities. The I AM EQUAL Photo Documentary
is open to everyone, from all walks of life; And will ultimately come to represent
the passion, commitment, and diversity of the human family. Come join the movement and connect to the power of equality. MUSIC
