At the moment the 80% of the monitors still 1920 … thus to crop in, it's extremely powerful, because you don't lose definition. However, cpu power should be huge. What I didn't understand yet, is the file format that Sharp uses …RAW should be possible as well as ProRes … much more efficiency in file management, even if they are much larger Reply Kiana Foster says: January 13, 2019 at 5:55 pm Good video! Reply Simon Ward says: January 13, 2019 at 10:56 pm Make that 8K footage 4K it’s just like crushing 4K into a 1080 timeline for extra sharpness sounds good to me. Especially with 4K screens getting more and more readily available both TV and computers. For YouTube and Streaming possibly abit to much but ya never know. Reply keyat beauty concepts says: January 13, 2019 at 11:01 pm i started a youtube channel to overcome thinking and depression and to make some cash. i am an orphan and most time i think a lot on how to survive on my own, so i decided that anytime i become moody, ill start to speak to my camera believing that i have people watching me at that moment and after the recording, i may have forgotten what sadness was on my mind and start thinking of how to edit and upload the video online and then what video to do next. i really hope creating a youtube channel can help me with this, though i lack the facilities now but i am hoping for better days. thanks @think media for giving me the opportunity to express myself Reply Managing The Moores says: January 14, 2019 at 12:13 am I think it’s kind of irrelevant at the moment, not everything can handle 4K. What’s your thoughts on shooting videos with the iPhone camera? That’s what I’ve shot my videos. Reply Megan Shaye says: January 14, 2019 at 8:58 am I think sharp are coming in too ahead of the game. If they were to attempt to sell this in the near future, their interest would be high as people are always intrigued by new and better quality videos, cameras ect. but as far as people purchasing I would think it would be extremely low as 4k is just starting to come into the game. Not many people have access to be able to view things in 4k, yet. But then technology moves quickly who knows. but I highly doubt it would generate many sales. in the far far future for sure, but near future I would think not…Also I'm no expert so I could be completely wrong. Reply Andreas Yiasimi says: January 14, 2019 at 11:15 am Another excellent video, thank you for the update 👍 It's important for filmmakers just starting off like myself, focus on basic art of creating isn't diverted or overpowered by technology's inevitable momentum 👌 Reply Josh Hodgman says: January 14, 2019 at 11:58 am 8K not really, and sharp whoo? Reply Roland Rick Photography says: January 15, 2019 at 1:13 pm I want this with 4K, 120 fps instead of 8K, for that ProRes or Blackmagic RAW footage and 14 to 15 stops dynamic range. That would be way more useful than 8K. No one needs 8K, specially not if it comes to billboards and big Stadion screens. Watch the Fstoppers video on resolution. In 2017 I finally got my 5.2K/30fps-4K/60fps Camera (GH5) and I realized: still not enough. The Camera I want to produce amazing 4K Footage should be at least: 8K Res., 100fps (4x slomo), Global Shutter, low noise in high ISO ( Dual native ISO )15 stops DR, 10bit codec without visible compression artefacts, .. It will take several more years, until this is available for under 5.000 $. Reply John Kang says: February 2, 2019 at 12:40 pm 8K is almost sony A7R1 resolution and that camera is full frame. Maybe you will then say, we don't need 8k, like you did, saying I don't need 4K, when you choose the M50 over the Sony A6400, or the 80d over the Sony A6300… LOL 🙂 Reply Ranger 7 Studios says: February 12, 2019 at 10:01 pm So do we know if this is going to be 8K RAW or Prores? Reply Ranger 7 Studios says: February 12, 2019 at 10:04 pm I think with unlimited record time, a good IBS system, and RAW recording, this could be comparable to a RED. Reply Gal Disegni says: February 13, 2019 at 8:41 am Technology never ends and in my opinion it creates this feeling of "we are never enough". Reply Xi Le says: March 11, 2019 at 5:35 am Is it 8K 4:2:2 10bit RGB HDR or 8K 4:2:0 8bit RGB SDR? I prefer 8K 4:2:2 RGB HDR over 8K 4:2:0 RGB SDR because you can convert its original video format to 4K or HD with much better quality than 8K 4:2:0 RGB SDR (4:2:0 RGB SDR is the Blu-ray 1080p SDR quality & smartphone 8K SDR quality). Reply Sean Coley says: March 11, 2019 at 11:03 am Raw recording, an NVME SSD slot or two, and high dynamic range are what I'm hoping for in a camera. 8K is great but I'm very happy with 4K at the moment. And who loves knowing their efforts are never viewed in full resolution anyway! Probably a great camera, but no thanks. U might as well go with a RED Weapon Reply addresses says: May 7, 2019 at 12:20 pm Although I really haven't been doing much with it, I've been shooting in 4K for over three years. I jumped on the 4K bandwagon fairly early because I think it will likely turn out the way that 1080p HD did — hard to work with at first, but ultimately, it will become the norm. And once the software and content distribution catch up, you can produce some really nice content from your archive of footage. So I'll get an 8K camera as early as I can and archive my footage — knowing that in a few years, I should easily be able to work with it. Reply Majadi says: May 26, 2019 at 9:53 am 4K is cheesey shit, if you are not using 8K you are a amateur wasting your time. Reply kadekbalian says: June 4, 2019 at 5:56 pm 8K and 6K60p is becoming very relevant very fast in the VR and VR180 world. Sharp could instantly dominate these segments with optimised 1:1 shooting modes (for fisheye circular image capture) in a sensor that they develop Reply Vow of Practicality says: June 11, 2019 at 9:08 pm I love that Reply PKBeast says: June 15, 2019 at 6:44 pm Everyone is saying how 4K isn't even mainstream yet so why 8K? But I'm looking at it as a flexibility tool for pro-sumer 4K production. For example, if you need to zoom in for a panning shot, rather than zooming in with 4K and risk shaky-cam or waste time setting up your tripod, you could do an on-the-fly smooth shot in 8K with no zoom, edit on an 8K timeline, zoom in as needed and then render in 4K. Little to no loss in visual quality (depending on how much zoom in post). Reply Steve Potts says: June 17, 2019 at 6:44 pm 4k works fine for traditional video but for 360 video 4k yields a poor image quality. 8k or even higher will be needed for that type of camera. Reply voicetube says: June 20, 2019 at 10:23 am I heard that Guardians of the Galaxy 2 was shot on an 8K Red camera (!). I think at least one Indian film was shot on 8K as well. Then when 4k phases out completely I'll be cool sience the human eye cant tell the difference beyond 8k.I got enough to buy the 85 inch 8k right now for the 6grand plus tax they cost now I'll be able to film my batchelor party and mad stripper parties on it girls gone wild style and watch it and edit all my vacations and watch them before everyone else on average gets any content and be prepared for starting my 8k channel for when they do catch up on average. Reply Michelle L says: June 27, 2019 at 8:52 am I do not think people understand the meaning of Affordable anymore. China has a clone of the red at 4k if you got that kinda money better to buy that. A 2000$ phone only cost 500$ to make this is why stuff from china is better for less you do not pay 1000$ for the name like Apple. greed means less money due to small market. Reply Michelle L says: June 27, 2019 at 8:57 am Why are people happy with paying for a name like VR , Its nothing more then 2 small lcds so a tiny cheap TV in a 20$ case. Facebook and there greed made it 3 times the markup up then steam made it 6 times the markup killing VR. A high markup is 350$ yet it was 1000/1400$ when the cost is close to the same to make. Reply 五二一 says: July 6, 2019 at 1:15 pm Didn't see demo and any of the shot Reply Spooksville Scoob says: July 12, 2019 at 5:28 pm 8k? Why?… Reply Duncan says: July 18, 2019 at 2:32 pm No one really gives a shit about 8k TVs. At 4k you already have to sit within 6 feet from a 65" TV to tell the difference. At 8k you need to sit within 3 feet. No one is going to do that on a daily basis. I was a huge supporter of going 4K because it was a practical change with real visual benefit. 8k is just a moneygrab and there is no reasonable QUALITY improvement. If these assholes would get it together and start going for the actual things that improves visual quality (rather than the EASY thing that can woo the clueless) we would all benefit: Brightness. Refreshrate. Responsetime. Dynamic range. Spectrum range. SnR quality, etc. COST. Fuck 8k. — Now 8k RECORDING on the other hand is a great advancement. 8k recording that is downsized to 4k results in super-smooth and fine detailed content not to mention very high fidelity archival content. I am all for that. Reply SETH KH YT says: July 24, 2019 at 9:37 am How can I buy it? Reply Ken Ramsley says: September 15, 2019 at 8:59 pm This camera is a total waste of pixels, bits, and dollars. An 8K MFT sensor grossly over-samples any image from any possible lens. Even if you could resolve an 8K image (which nobody can do with present-day lens technology) — you'd need a 150-inch screen to notice the difference.
